The brick building at 217 North Graham Street in Uptown Charlotte was first erected and owned by Amzi Harman Turney, and his wife, Mary, in 1913. Only one owner later, at least two fires, and even an airplane crash to its third floor, not much has been able to keep this building from thriving. Over the century, it has been home to many businesses: candy factory, ballroom, a newspaper and even a five and dime. And today, it officially stands proud and more alive than ever.

It took a small village to revitalize what is now known as “The Graham” – a three-story,18,270-square foot piece of historic Charlotte. The top two floors of The Graham are home to a law firm whose Founder helped bring back the charm of The Graham while keeping its weathered brick walls and original floors. The juxtaposition of old and new serves as a reminder every day of how resilient we can be.

The top two floors were meticulously and extensively renovated, as well as a ground floor lobby, transforming The Graham’s tenant’s office into a gorgeous, smart, and practical workspace. At the time, the first floor of The Graham was left largely untouched. But, in 2020 two bathrooms were constructed and in 2021 the floors were finished – creating the beautiful open space that exists today. From the historic character of the bricks and beams to remnants of the burned ceiling to the beautiful floors, there is no question this space offers endless possibilities for your event or special occasion.
